The all female creative team of CLAMP has been collaborating on anime projects for well over a decade, building themselves quite a range of stories characters in the process.  Tsubasa's plot, concerning young archaeologist Syaoran leading a group of unlikely adventurers on a dimension hopping hunt for his lady's lost memories, is used as a launch pad to revisit the Clamp millieu.  Consequently, you'll really enjoy this if you like CLAMP's existing body of work, including favorites like X, Cardcaptor Sakura and Magic Knight Rayearth, because characters and plot points from these stories and many others keep popping up.  That isn't to say Tsubasa is for CLAMP fans only, although - it's a lighthearted and charming little fantasy on its own
